Summary: The village is a bit dated and this hotel was the best option we felt on paper. While a bit old fashioned it was lovely, clean, provided wonderful service and the outdoor Onsen was mixed so my husband and I could experience it together. We sat in the hot spring at 10pm by the river. It was lovely. The staff helped us understand the etiquette and answered any question we had. They were so kind. We didn’t eat at the hotel but drove 5’minutes to a superb ramen restaurant. Breakfast though was really good and catered for European and Japanese with an extensive buffet. We. Hose a Japanese room for the experience which was comfier than I had imagined.
