This splendid villa is located in a small fortified hamlet of the same name, Poggio al Vento which is situated on a hilltop in the Chianti area at a height of 400 meters a.s.l. Its truly extraordinary position offers guests of the villa an extensive view of one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany ranging from the fortified monastery of Badia a Passignano, just a few kilometers away, to the hills of the Val di Pesa and San Gimignano, which is possible to see on a clear day.
The villa is located close to the Badia di Passignano (monastry), a famous castle with some famous restaurants. Close by you have the wonderful Chianti area to visit as well as Siena, San Gimignano, and Volterra. You have 3 restaurants at near 3-4 minutes by car and shops and market only 10 minutes by car. Florence city center is only 30km away and it is easily reachable through the highway Florence-Siena in near 35 minutes.

Upon entering, you will find yourself in the great hall, once the Vallombrosian monks' refectory of nearby Badia a Passignano, still dining room with large antique table and monumental stone fireplace.
The apartment (240 sqm – 2583 ft) has four large double bedrooms and one twin: two on the ground floor overlooking the Pesa valley, and three on the top floor overlooking the garden and the valley towards Badia a Passignano. 4 bedrooms have its own ensuite bathroom decorated with Chianti handmade tiles and modern furnishings.
It's possible to accommodate two extra people In a sofa bed with a supplement.
The property has 5 bathrooms (4 ensuite).
There are two single sofa beds: one is located in a bedroom, the other in the living room.
In one of the bedrooms on the ground floor, the ancient “ritirata” has been reused for constructing the toilet. The “ritirata” is a small space with little stone window and panoramic views of the Chianti area.
The original terracotta floors were used again, where it has been possible; the walls were whitewashed as in medieval houses. A large living room on the first floor offers moments dedicated to read and relax.
The furniture recalls the elegant simplicity of the historical mansions: a few elements, but important, such as antique wrought iron beds or the nineteenth-century dresser with their original mirrors.
Even the kitchen has remained where it was in the past, reconstructed with antique marbles and current furnishings combined with antique furniture.
Next to the house, there is a large garden enclosed by a wall, like a Medieval 'hortus conclusus', offering a stone paved area with a spacious table ideal to eat, and a large lawn dotted with flowers in jars and Impruneta terracotta handmade “conche”.
In the garden, the above ground swimming-pool (5mt x 3mt, deep 1.30mt) is waiting you for fresh relax and take in the sweeping views of the Chianti hills, from Panzano, Radda, and the countryside with olive groves and vineyards at the foot of the castle.
Please note that the secondary road which leads to the villa is not paved: please keep a low speed with your car, above all with sports cars.
