"Casa in Contrada" is an apartment of 50 sq. m. in a 15th-century building located in a historic district of Siena. From Via Salicotto, it appears to be located in the basement, but the house looks out on the second floor of Via Porta Giustizia, from which you can admire the Orto dei Pecci, an authentic medieval urban garden and, above it, the Terzo di Città.
My accommodation is suitable for couples, lone adventurers, business travelers, families (with children) and furry friends (pets).

During the last week of July, from the 20th to the 28th included, in the neighborhood called "Rione della contrada dell Torre" where our apartment is located, a weekly celebration will be held in honor of the Contrada's Saint Patron.
During this festivity week that takes the name of "Mangia e Bevi" (literally drink and eat) you will be able to deeply breath the typical spirit of the "Palio di Siena", every evening the atmosphere will be made lively by live music, gastronomic stands, games and chorus taken by the Sienese traditional Palio songs.
This is a great occasion to become Siena's citizens and be part of a celebration handed down by the Middle Age, but if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet stay it might not be the perfect week to book your holiday.
