Small country house not far from Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and Marcialla, situated on a hill. The property consists of a villa (ITC957), a farmhouse (ITC958), slightly below, and an old barn which has been converted into 2 apartments. Large communal garden with swimming pool, near the entrance to the estate and the road. It is possible to take long walks in the surrounding area and buy local olive oil, wine and Visanto. The holiday home is comfortably furnished. ITC957: The cellar is used as a storage room by the owner, and is only used on Saturdays to accommodate tenants. The commune of Tavarnelle takes its name from the ancient tavern that was located there in Roman times, where travellers were welcomed with refreshments and offered a room for the night, when they were on the roads between Florence, Siena and Rome. The area is full of churches, old buildings and farms. Mountain bike enthusiasts will be able to take part in guided excursions to discover Chianti. Cooking and baking classes and wine tastings can be organised. Price information and timetables to be seen on site. In April, May and June you can participate free of charge in some of the activities in the rental ITC958: first of all cooking classes (which take place directly in the accommodation) and a workshop to learn how to prepare typical Tuscan dishes: "pappa al pomodoro" (bread and tomato soup) and "cantuccini" (cake). You can learn how to cook these dishes and then you will be given the original recipe. If you prefer, go for a walk on the Via Francigena. The owner accompanies you by car to the starting point of the road, then follow the 15 km long path in the footsteps of pilgrims, which offers beautiful views. After reaching your goal, you will be driven back to the rental car. Thirdly, you can also hike in the surrounding area and take part in wine tastings in the wine cellars. Fourth, for half a day take your mountain bike and go for a ride. If you don't have yours with you, you can rent one on site. On request and against payment on site: access to a small wellness centre (1 km) with sauna, Turkish bath and massage room.
