Positive: The entire experience felt authentic- the perfect glance into the life of a monk, without being too uncomfortable or immersed. The facilities were beautiful, the food was akin to what you'd imagine a monk would eat, the ceremonies were really neat to be apart of and the onsen was lovely with the winter's cold (the warmer under the table was a true luxury!!) For a one night experience/stay, I highly recommend!

Negative: We've stayed in a few traditional Japanese rooms now and this was the least comfortable. But that said, the room was gorgeous, and it went well with the overall mindful experience we were seeking. Minamalist, yet cozy.
