Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The host helped us a lot from renting a car to booking a trip. I appreciate very much the weekly cleaning of the house. Also, the beach next to the house is deserted and so any time I went, I am mostly by myself.

Negative: We stayed for one month. There was this impression (and reality) that there are a lot of things that 'you can't do' in the house. It is not that you will do those things but there are this feeling of not being welcomed when you are a guest and there are prohibition notices everywhere around the house, including the prohibition booklet..you better not open the windows, do not make noise beyond this door, men to sit down on the toilet to pee, do not touch the decorations in the house because they are expensive, do not touch the banana in the garden, do not go into the house without cleaning yourself with the water hose outside, do not leave food around this area in the kitchen etc. etc. I am not sure if some tourists before did these things so that the hosts decided to put these notices or if it's kind of like a Japanese culture to state the obvious and prohibit silly behaviours by setting rules, but this house is the first house in my 4 years on the road life which makes me feel uneasy in living in it. And after one month, me and my husband still cannot 'feel like home' (there are a lot of places where you feel like home the moment you check in). Another thing to note, the house is solid 30 min drive away from the town, supermarket or any kind of bar, for us, who are living for a month instead of being in tourist activities every minute, it is kind of inconvenient. All in all, if you like some kind of extreme isolation from human warmth, you will like the location.
